2006 - LIVING CITY AT THE HOWARD SMITH WHARVES >
The Howard Smith Wharves (HSW) is a key riverside site within Brisbane, located at a junction between the CBD, Fortitude Valley and New Farm. HSW is considered to be a priority site of Brisbane City Council's City Centre Master Plan and is currently under investigation as a major capital project. " Howard Smith Wahrves is the last major undeveloped riverside site in the city centre" (BCC City CEntre Masterplan, 2006).

The site's future inevitably rests in some form of development. The question of what type of development has been addressed during the Living City workshop of 2006,
watershed, by six teams of young people.

They developed ideas based on:
... their engagement with the site
... an exploration of the site's intrinsic values
... comparison with other key riverside locations within the city
        ... their own experience.
