Blue Team
The Blue Team proposed enhancing the identity of Stones Corner by using custom-designed elements to distinguish it from other centres nearby or along the Eastern Corridor Busway.
An entrance feature to the Logan Road shopping street, opposite the busway entrance and on the main road was proposed. Custom furniture and lighting was also considered for use in public spaces and along the streets.
As with many of the teams, the library building and the existing courtyard at the front of the building was considered as a prime community asset. Many of the custom elements designed for Stones Corner would be used in the courtyard to make it an identifiable community hub for the precinct, as well as a space for use by individuals and groups.
The team's proposal responded very strongly to its relationship with a new transport network - as well as an existing one - while reinforcing an identity at various scales in response to pedestrian and vehicle movement in and around the centre.
